Atticus Nelson debated for four years at Desoto Central High School in Southaven, Mississippi, where he founded the school's speech and debate program. Atticus accumulated 4 TOC gold bids throughout his career. Most notably, he championed NCFL Nationals in 2017, and he was the 2015, 2016, & 2017 Mississippi state champion. Atticus reached the late elimination rounds at NSDA Nationals. He championed various regional tournaments including the Holy Cross Round Robin, the Saints Classic, and the Bishop Guild Invitational. Since graduating, Atticus has privately coached teams and worked to start various middle school debate programs. Atticus has experience coaching debate teams of all skills levels, and is excited to join NSD this summer!
