Kelly Schwab has been teaching in South Florida for the past 20 years, she was in the classroom as soon as she earned her BA in English Education from Florida State University in 2001. This will be her fourth summer working as a part of administration for NSD in Philadelphia (previous summers were 2017, 2018, and 2019). A few highlights: since she started a debate program in 2010 at Pembroke Pines Charter HS she has coached her students to state/national/TOC elimination rounds & overall top rankings, she has reached the coaching degree level of 2nd Diamond, and been awarded district coach of the year through the National Speech and Debate Association. Other than instructing & coaching debate at PPCHS, she is also teaching Cambridge's AICE Global Perspectives & AICE Thinking Skills as well as the sponsor of a chapter for the Village Mentors (global service organization) and a Political Youth club. Before coming to NSD, Kelly worked at Camp Highlander in North Carolina as a specialist and administrator for 13 summers. She is trained and certified in CPR/first aid and has been a critical response team leader for her school over the past 12 years.
