Neel debated for 4 years at Acton-Boxborough High School. He accumulated 11 career bids to the Tournament of Champions, winning the Lexington Invitational and reaching deep elimination rounds at the Harvard Tournament and the Bronx Invitational. In high school, he primarily read critical, phil, and theory arguments.
