General Definition
Uniqueness is a view of the status quo. Imagine a debate about changing the thermostat—one side wants it hotter, the other cooler. Without knowing the current temperature, it’s hard to judge who’s right. If it’s 50 degrees, the “hotter” side wins; if it’s 90, the “cooler” side does. The current temperature is the uniqueness.
