Travel Debate Team

Why Join the NSD Classes Travel Team
The NSD Classes Travel Team offers fun, rigorous instruction and elite competitive coaching from debate's best educators. Our coaches have guided students to over 1,000 TOC bids and 500+ tournament championships. Our curriculum is built around the fundamentals that drive real success: critical thinking, academic research, public speaking, and strategic vision, all delivered through a personalized, hands-on approach. Beyond the results, we've built a driven, supportive community where students grow as thinkers, speakers, and competitors.
What Is Competitive Debate
Competitive debate allows students to showcase their skills against competitors from around the country and world, at tournaments hosted by prestigious institutions that attract elite, diverse fields. The skills built through competition are genuinely transferable — rapid research, persuasive speaking, evidence synthesis, and arguing complex questions under pressure. A sustained competitive career demonstrates depth of preparation and real-world engagement, qualities that stand out to colleges and universities well beyond the trophy shelf.

Partnerships

We understand that an optimal partnership is an integral part of a student’s debate experience. Upon registering for a tournament, we will create partner assignments based on students prior experience/competitive results, age, grade, class level. As students start competing more frequently, metrics such as prep attendance, assignment completion, and dedication indicators will be included. Students are welcome to register with a pre-existing partner - we will always put their preference first.
