Tate Weston

Tate Weston's Headshot

Tate debated for James Bowie high school in Austin Texas where he was the first and only debater from his school to qualify to the Tournament of Champions in LD. He is now a Pre-law student studying Philosophy and Digital Music Production at Tulane University as well as an Intern at the Tulane Institute on Water Law and Policy. In the past, Tate has worked for LC Anderson HS and Westlake HS in Austin but now coaches primarily individual debaters across the country. Over his time as a coach, Tate's students have acquired numerous bids to the TOC and have reached late out rounds of tournaments like Harvard, Yale, Berkley, Bronx, University of Texas, and USC. As an educator, Tate specializes in advanced strategy and multi-circuit adaptation, but his favorite arguments tend to be Kritikal with a particular focus on Deleuze, Wynter, Baudrillard, and Lacan. He is very excited to be back teaching for his fourth summer at NSD!
